Space Strife
Space Strife
A chaotic space shooter around defending a planet using tanks!
Full code and assets available at GitHub
The enemy cubes will come slowly at first, but their numbers will increase! So make sure to keep your tanks upgraded to remain strong enough. Make use of the nearby planets gravity to hit the enemies hiding behind them. Different weapons will be more or less useful when flying past gravity sources. If your planet gets hit too many times it's game over.
Thank you to Captainskolot for the character portraits!
If you give it a go but find yourself stuck, there is a 'Debug' option to unlock all levels in the Options menu.
Multiple Ways to Control:
- Use keyboard and mouse to move your tank where to fire!
- Use touch controls with duel joysticks in landscape or a combined joystick in portrait.
- Use a controller, which has somewhat experimental support.
Other Features:
- Lots of colours!
- It's a short game!
- Still plenty of bugs!
- It's not really balanced!
- Characters and character abilities!
In-progress:
- Sound Effects
- Music
- Better controller support
Future Work:
- Scoring
- More custom UI

Windows
There are two options for Windows. So far I've found the Vulkan version to work better, however if that is causing problems use the DirectX version. The only difference is the rendering engine, the game is otherwise the same and uses the same save.
macOS
The macOS build is directly from Unity and so is likely to be blocked unless you specifically allow the app. Hopefully in future I'll have it signed correctly.
